The Opportunity to Learn to Think Like a Spy Starts Here
The CARVER Mindset is not just about tactics that can help you gain a competitive advantage in your business, relationships, or in everyday situations. It is a way of life. When intelligence operatives undergo their training (known as “tradecraft”), it is structured in a way so that officers can build and reinforce essential techniques that become second nature. A good ops officer doesn’t turn on his or her state of readiness during 9 to 5 work hours. They are always in some state of alertness, even it seems like they might be engaged in a mundane activity like driving, eating, or talking a walk.
Unlike the movies, the best intelligence professionals can appear unassuming and often blend into the background (i.e., the “gray man” concept). But don’t be fooled by appearances. Some of the most dangerous people may be right in front of you, although you might never know.
Rest assured, once you learn the principles of the CARVER Mindset, you become wiser to the ways of espionage… which has been referred to as the world’s second oldest profession.

CARVER Mindset Concluding Thoughts
What is the CARVER Mindset?
The CARVER Mindset is the ability to quickly absorb details (no matter how minimal) from the world around you in order to extrapolate a conclusion and make the best possible decisions you can. It's about making the most of what you've got, whether you find yourself in a dangerous situation, a high-stakes negotiation, or should you need to determine the intensions of a stranger. Using the criteria of the time-tested CARVER Methodology, an analytical risk-assessment tool used by CIA officers, you can learn to fill in the blanks without making a situation worse.
